Something Special that our family is real proud of
"March 2008"
"Heide became a United States Citizen"
Sworn in on 23 October 2008
|

It took a lot of hard work...
Starting with her green card issued when she was 7 years old, filling out
the proper papers at the post office every year. Spending time
studying, mailing papers back and forth to Germany to get a passport for
an immigrant. Then..... More trips to Riverside for finger printing,
new photo's, several trips to Los Angeles, and then the swearing in.
Now she has a new passport showing her to be a US citizen.
I want to give a special thanks to our Daughter Cindy who was the driving
force behind this. She worked for hours with flash cards helping her
mother learn what was needed, taking time out of her busy life to drive
her Mother to Los Angeles and Riverside when needed and handling the
paperwork.
Thank you Cindy. |

What an Honor

| A gift from a wonderful women, Kathryn Massanet, who went to the trouble and expense to obtain this flag for Heide as her way of saying
congratulations on becoming a U.S. Citizen. |

|
For those of us that have a hard time reading the small print,
here is what is says:
This is to certify that the accompanying flag was flown over the United States
Capitol.
At the request of the Honorable Dianne Feinstein, United States Senator,
this flag was flown for Heide South on the occasion of becoming an
American citizen, October 23, 2008. |

This Personal Web Site will be for both my Wife
Heide ( you guessed it, she's German) and myself. We have
lived in Ontario, Ca. for over 37 years (in the same house) and have
had no plans on moving until now. We have now purchased a new home
in Bloomington California that will close escrow the 2nd of January 2006.
Retired 10 November
2005
One
of our interests that we enjoy is the
"Cabrillo Marine
Aquarium". We
have a membership in the "Friends of Cabrillo Marine Aquarium" that is located
at: 3720 Stephen White Drive in San Pedro, California 90731. To visit their site, Click Here. It
is a wonderful place and we visit as often as we can.
For the time being (2003) I have gone back to school
(Chaffy College) to learn how to write Web Pages. It started out with an 8 week class on Saturday Mornings
taking "HTML" and proved to be an interesting class. I then moved on
to "JavaScript" and am finding this to be a very hard language to
learn. The time allowed for the class only allowed us to get part way
through the book so I continue my studies at home trying to complete the
book. In the mean time I try different parts of my studies to build
this web site. This will be an on going thing so feel free to stop in
once in a while. I put the date of the last update for a given page
at the bottom of that page so you will be able to see right away if changes have been made
to that page.
Well the 8th of December 2003 has come and gone.
With it came my 65th Birthday and I am
now collecting Social Security along with the other things people of my age collect.
I will
continue to work as the new Law says that after the age of 65 and 2 months I can collect
Social Security and continue to work and make as much money as I want without it effecting
my Social Security payment... For the time being it is like finding money on the floor but
later it won't be enough to survive on so
I'll always have to have another source of income
to help out....
Several irons in the Fire.....
And then on 9 Nov 2005 I Got
that other source......

9 November 2005
(would have been my Mothers
Birthday)
Heide and I
have had
a life changing experience. After all the years of me buying Super Lotto tickets, in pools at work and playing the same
numbers
game
after game, Heide purchased a $10.00 "Quick
Pick" for her
and
Cindy on her way to
Bingo and hit all six (6) numbers.....
We split a jackpot of $26,000,000.00
with some folks in Walnut, Ca. Our share was $13,000.000.00 over 27 years..... Not
on your life, We took the
cash Value of $6,500,000.00
We have
purchased a new home in Bloomington, Ca. with our daughter Cindy & Her husband
Evan buying the house next
door to us.
It will be Heide's job to purchase all the new furniture and
items she wants to make the house look the way she wants.
My job will be to get the outside done the way we want it
including an enclosed pool....
